The energy inside the Xiangshan High School Gymnasium was nothing short of electric over the June 6-7 weekend. Hsinchu City hosted the 3rd National Floor Curling Championship, showcasing a great display of talent, strategy, and inclusivity that perfectly embodies the spirit of floor curling.

With 39 teams from 7 different cities across Taiwan, the tournament showcased just how rapidly floor curling is uniting communities and expanding its footprint.

A Unified Field of Play

What made this year’s championship truly special was its commitment to inclusivity. The tournament ran two divisions simultaneously: the Para Division, featuring 16 teams; and the Open Division, featuring 23 teams.

By playing side-by-side, the event highlighted the beautiful reality of floor curling: a sport where strategy, teamwork, and precision belong to everyone equally.

The Ultimate Test: Double Knockout Format

With a gruelling double knockout format, there was no room for error. Losing a single match may not mean elimination just yet, but the path to the finals becomes a marathon. The pressure was on from the very first stone, demanding ultimate mental stamina from every athlete over the two days.

Against all odds, the champions of both the Open and Para Divisions went undefeated, an incredible achievement at a national championship. Navigating a competition without dropping a single game requires flawless execution and composure under pressure. A massive congratulations to both of our 2026 Champions!

Looking Ahead

The success of the 3rd Hsinchu National Championship proves that floor curling is not just a passing trend in Taiwan—it is a thriving, competitive community. Events like this lay the groundwork for international growth, proving that world-class floor curling excitement can happen anywhere.

Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, and athletes who made this weekend an unforgettable celebration of floor curling. We can’t wait to see what the 4th edition brings!
